If you’ve ever wondered what the Team Fun crew gets up to when we’re not plotting the next clue, building the next challenge, or arguing (politely) about the correct amount of confetti… here’s your answer.

The last six months have been a full-throttle lap around Australia (and online), delivering everything from city-wide Amazing Races to foam-filled school fundraisers — and yes, even Medieval Murder Mysteries in a real castle.

Below is a highlights reel of what we’ve been running, where we’ve been running it, and why we love doing it.

A quick reminder: what we actually do

Team Fun creates immersive, interactive team experiences for corporate groups, schools, communities and events. Our formats range from high-energy outdoor adventures to indoor game shows, trivia nights, and online escape rooms.

The common thread?

  • Everyone gets involved
  • The experience feels “real” (not awkward)
  • It’s built to fit your group, your location, and your vibe

The last six months: cities, coastlines, castles and chaos (the good kind)

Taskmaster challenges in Sydney

Sydney brought the chaos in the best way. Our Taskmaster-style events are fast, funny and surprisingly competitive — the kind of experience where quiet achievers suddenly become tactical masterminds.

Perfect for:

  • Corporate team days
  • Conference breakouts
  • Teams who love a laugh (and a scoreboard)

School Foam & Colour fundraising events in regional QLD

Regional Queensland turned up the energy with foam cannons, colour stations and big fundraising vibes. These events are built for maximum participation and maximum smiles — and they’re a brilliant way to raise money while giving the community something to talk about for weeks.

Perfect for:

  • Schools and P&C groups
  • Community fundraising
  • Big groups that want a “wow” factor

Amazing Race in Melbourne

Melbourne delivered the ideal Amazing Race playground: laneways, landmarks, hidden details and plenty of opportunities for teams to split up, strategise and race the clock.

Perfect for:

  • Corporate groups
  • End-of-year celebrations
  • Teams who want an active, city-based adventure

Medieval Murder Mysteries in a real castle (Ballarat)

Yes, an actual castle. Ballarat gave us one of the most unique backdrops we’ve ever used — a Medieval Murder Mystery where teams interrogate, investigate, and try not to accuse the wrong person too loudly.

Perfect for:

  • Teams who love story and roleplay
  • Dinner events
  • Groups who want something totally different

Game Shows in Newcastle

Newcastle brought the big “studio energy” with buzzer rounds, rapid-fire questions, and plenty of friendly heckling. Game Shows are a great option when you want a high-impact experience without needing a huge outdoor space.

Perfect for:

  • Indoor venues
  • Mixed fitness levels
  • Teams who want laughs + competition

Survivor on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast was made for Survivor-style challenges: teamwork, pressure, problem-solving and a few moments where someone says, “I didn’t know I could do that.”

Perfect for:

  • Leadership groups
  • Teams that want a challenge
  • Outdoor corporate events

Olympic Games in regional WA

Regional WA reminded us why we love travelling: big skies, big energy, and teams that go all in. Our Olympic Games events are packed with rotating challenges that keep everyone moving and cheering.

Perfect for:

  • Large groups
  • Company family days
  • Teams who want variety

Sports Challenge in Tennant Creek (NT)

Tennant Creek delivered one of those “this is why we do it” moments. Sports Challenge events are built for inclusive competition — quick rounds, team scoring, and lots of chances for different people to shine.

Perfect for:

  • Regional events
  • Community groups
  • Teams that want something active but accessible

Segway Amazing Race at Uluru

This one was special. Uluru is unforgettable on its own — adding a Segway-based Amazing Race format turns it into an experience your team will talk about for years.

Perfect for:

  • Incentive trips
  • Leadership retreats
  • Teams wanting a once-in-a-lifetime location

The Ultimate Amazing Race: Sydney to Brisbane… then a Campervan Amazing Race back

This was the big one.

We ran an Ultimate Amazing Race from Sydney to Brisbane, then followed it up with a Campervan Amazing Race back to Sydney via Tenterfield and regional NSW.

Think:

  • Multi-day challenges
  • Route strategy
  • Location-based tasks
  • Team comms and scoring
  • A ridiculous amount of memories

Perfect for:

  • Incentive travel
  • Multi-day conferences
  • Teams who want a true shared adventure

A book launch in Sydney

Not every event needs to be loud (but we can do loud if you want). We also organised and then supported a Sydney book launch with tailored activities that matched the tone of the night — engaging, social, and memorable.

Perfect for:

  • Corporate events
  • Brand activations
  • Launch nights that want more than “stand around and chat”

Trivia in Darwin

Darwin brought the heat — and the competitive spirit. Trivia is a classic for a reason: it’s inclusive, it’s social, and it’s a low-pressure way to get people mixing.

Perfect for:

  • Team dinners
  • EOFY and Christmas parties
  • Mixed groups (clients + staff)

Loads of online Escape Room events (and plenty more)

When teams are spread across cities (or countries), online escape rooms keep connection and collaboration alive. We’ve run heaps of these recently — fast-paced, puzzle-driven, and designed so everyone has a role.

Perfect for:

  • Remote teams
  • Hybrid workplaces
  • Quick team-building wins

The point of all this travel (besides the frequent flyer points)

Every location is different. Every team is different. And that’s exactly why we love what we do.

We build events that:

  • Work for your group size (from small teams to huge crowds)
  • Fit your location (CBD, regional, resort, office, outdoors)
  • Match your vibe (high-energy, story-based, relaxed, competitive)

Want Team Fun to bring the chaos to your city?

If you’re planning a team day, conference, school fundraiser or end-of-year celebration, we’ll help you pick the right format — and customise it so it feels like it was built for your group (because it is).

Contact us to start planning your next adventure

If you’ve ever watched The Amazing Race on TV, you know the feeling: the clock is ticking, the clues are cryptic, the city becomes a game board, and every decision feels like it matters.

That’s the expectation people bring with them when they book an Amazing Race-style event.

And honestly? They should.

At Team Fun, we believe immersive events aren’t a “nice extra.” They’re the difference between a group activity people politely attend… and an experience they talk about for months.

Immersion isn’t about props. It’s about belief.

Immersion is that moment when your team stops thinking, “We’re doing a team building activity,” and starts thinking, “We’re in it.”

  • It’s the difference between:
  • Walking to a checkpoint vs. racing to beat another team
  • Reading a clue vs. decoding a mission
  • Taking a photo vs. proving you were there

When people believe the story, they commit. And when they commit, the magic happens: collaboration becomes natural, communication becomes urgent (in a good way), and every win feels earned.

Why “Amazing Race” has to feel like Amazing Race

We’ve all been to events that promise one thing and deliver another. If someone books an Amazing Race experience, they’re not expecting a casual scavenger hunt with a clipboard and a few riddles. They’re expecting:

  • A real sense of pace and pressure
  • A storyline that makes the challenges feel connected
  • Moments that surprise them
  • A finish that feels like a finale

That doesn’t mean it needs to be stressful or intense. It means it needs to feel real.Because when the experience matches the expectation, people don’t just enjoy it — they trust it.

Immersion creates the outcomes companies actually want

Here’s the part most people miss: immersive events aren’t just more fun. They’re more effective. When your team is fully engaged, you naturally get more of the stuff leaders care about:

  • Better communication (because the mission requires it)
  • Stronger problem-solving (because the clues don’t solve themselves)
  • Real collaboration (because no one wins alone)
  • Shared memories (which is what bonding actually is)

Immersion doesn’t “add fluff.” It creates the conditions where teams forget to be guarded and start being human.

How we build immersion into every Team Fun event

We sweat the details because your team feels the details.Depending on the event style and location, immersion can include:

  • Narrative-driven challenges (not random tasks)
  • Live scoring and real-time competition
  • Multi-media clues that feel like you’re inside a show
  • Clear roles and team identity so everyone has a place
  • A proper finale that gives closure and bragging rights

And yes — we can tailor the intensity.

Want high-energy chaos? We can do that.Want something more relaxed, inclusive, and strategic? Also doable.

The key is this: whatever version you choose, it still needs to feel like you’ve stepped into something bigger than a normal workday.

A little hint about what’s coming next…

We’ve been quietly working on something we’re genuinely excited about: an open-to-the-public immersive event. Not a “turn up and wander around” kind of thing. We’re talking full immersion — the kind where you forget you’re in your own city for a moment because the world has been transformed into the game.

It’s still in the planning stage, but if you’ve ever wanted to experience Team Fun the way a corporate group does (with the story, the pace, the competition, the whole vibe)… keep an eye on this space.

Want your next event to feel like the real thing?

If you want an Amazing Race-style experience that actually delivers what people expect when they see it on TV, let’s chat.Tell us your group size, your city, and the kind of energy you want — and we’ll build something immersive, unforgettable, and very, very Team Fun.

Planning a team activity sounds simple—until you’re juggling budgets, diaries, locations, accessibility, and the pressure to make it actually worth everyone’s time. This guide breaks down exactly what a company needs to do to plan a team activity that’s fun, inclusive, and aligned to real business outcomes.

Why planning matters (more than the activity itself)

A well-planned team activity can improve collaboration, morale, and communication. A poorly planned one can feel like a forced “tick-the-box” exercise. The difference usually comes down to clarity: clear goals, clear constraints, and clear logistics.

Step 1: Define the purpose (the “why”)

Before you look at venues or activities, decide what you want the day to achieve.

  • Connection and morale: new starters, post-project reset, culture-building
  • Cross-team collaboration: breaking silos, improving communication
  • Celebration: end-of-year, milestones, wins
  • Problem-solving and creativity: innovation, strategy days, leadership offsites

Tip: Pick one primary goal and 1–2 secondary goals. Trying to do everything usually means doing nothing well.

Step 2: Set success criteria (what “good” looks like)

Define how you’ll know it worked.

  • Participation rate (did people actually engage?)
  • Feedback score (simple 1–5 rating)
  • Observable outcomes (new connections, improved energy, better cross-team chat)
  • Practical outputs (if it’s a workshop-style activity)

Step 3: Understand your group (size, needs, vibe)

The best team building activities match the group.

  • Headcount: total participants + any late additions
  • Fitness and accessibility: mobility needs, injuries, pregnancy considerations
  • Comfort levels: introverts vs extroverts, new teams vs long-standing teams
  • Cultural considerations: food, language, inclusivity
  • Risk tolerance: do you want “high energy” or “low pressure”?

Step 4: Lock the constraints (budget, time, location)

These three decisions narrow your options fast.

  • Budget: include activity cost + venue + catering + transport + prizes + AV
  • Time window: 60–90 mins, half-day, or full-day
  • Location: onsite, nearby, or destination (and travel time)

If you’re planning across multiple offices or remote staff, consider hybrid-friendly options or parallel activities.

Step 5: Choose the format (activity type)

Match the activity format to your goal and constraints.

  • Indoor team activities: game shows, trivia, problem-solving challenges
  • Outdoor team activities: city challenges, scavenger hunts, “Amazing Race” formats
  • Virtual team activities: online game shows, virtual races, play-anytime games
  • Workshop + activity combo: short strategy session followed by a high-engagement activity

SEO note: If you’re searching for ideas, use terms like team building activities, corporate team activity ideas, and group activities for work.

Step 6: Pick a date and get buy-in early

Team activities fail when calendars aren’t protected.

  • Send a save-the-date as soon as you have a shortlist
  • Ask leaders to reinforce attendance expectations
  • Avoid peak leave periods and major delivery deadlines

Step 7: Plan logistics like an event (because it is)

A smooth run sheet is the difference between “fun” and “chaos.”

  • Venue booking and access times
  • Wet weather backup plan (for outdoor activities)
  • AV needs (mics, speakers, screens)
  • Catering and dietary requirements
  • Team allocations (pre-assigned vs on arrival)
  • Safety briefing and first aid plan
  • Photo permissions (optional)

Step 8: Communicate clearly (reduce anxiety, increase excitement)

People engage more when they know what to expect.

  • What to wear
  • Start/end times
  • Meeting point
  • Accessibility notes
  • What’s included (food, drinks, prizes)
  • The “vibe” (competitive, relaxed, creative)

Step 9: Run a simple feedback loop

You don’t need a complicated survey.

  • 3 questions max (rating + what they liked + what to improve)
  • Capture learnings for next time
  • Share a short recap internally (photos + highlights)

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Planning an activity that doesn’t match the team’s comfort level
  • Forgetting travel time (and then running late)
  • No wet weather plan
  • Overloading the schedule (no breathing room)
  • Making it feel mandatory without explaining the purpose
A Recent Brisbane to Hunter Valley Journey – But Your Route, Your Way
Picture this: Your team standing outside your Brisbane office, Amazing Race envelope in hand, about to embark on a multi-day adventure across regional Australia in campervans. This isn’t a dream – it’s exactly what one of our recent corporate clients experienced with Team Fun’s Campervan Amazing Race. But here’s the exciting part: every Campervan Amazing Race is completely different, designed around where your team wants to start, where you want to finish, and how many days you want to adventure.
Let us share a recent journey to inspire your own custom Australian team building adventure.

How the Campervan Amazing Race Works

Before we dive into the recent Brisbane to Hunter Valley race, let’s explain how we make this seamless for your team:

We Handle All the Logistics

  • Campervan Sourcing: We arrange 5-berth campervans, fully fueled and ready to roll
  • Strategic Delivery: Vans are delivered to a convenient pickup point along your route
  • Luggage Management: We collect your team’s luggage beforehand and have it waiting inside the vans
  • Pre-Divided Teams: Teams are organized before the start – no awkward selections on race day
  • Complete Route Planning: From start to finish, we design every checkpoint and challenge
  • Accommodation Booking: Powered sites, caravan parks, or hotels – all pre-arranged
  • Meal Reservations: Dinner spots booked and ready for your arrival
You just show up ready for adventure. We handle everything else.

A Recent Example: Brisbane to Hunter Valley

The Start: Brisbane Office Departure

The race began at the client’s Brisbane office. Our Team Fun facilitators arrived with:
  • Amazing Race Envelopes for each team
  • Travel packs with essential information
  • The first cryptic clue to decode
Just like our traditional Brisbane Amazing Race events, teams immediately went into problem-solving mode. They decoded the clue and raced on foot through Brisbane’s streets to their first manned checkpoint, where our team was waiting.

First Challenge: Stock Your Van

At this checkpoint, teams competed in a skill and accuracy challenge. But this wasn’t just for points – points meant provisions. The better teams performed, the more food and drinks were stocked in their van’s fridge. This added a strategic element right from the start: perform well now, eat well later!
Once completed, teams received their next clue revealing:
  • The location of a colour-coded lockbox containing their van keys
  • Where their campervan was parked

Van Pickup and Orientation

Teams raced to find their lockbox, retrieved their keys, and located their van. Inside, they found:
  • Their luggage already loaded
  • A fully stocked fridge (based on their challenge performance)
  • A brief orientation on the van’s features
  • Their next Amazing Race envelope waiting on the dashboard
And they were off!

Day One: Brisbane to Warwick via Aratula

The Journey

Teams hit the road, driving through the beautiful Scenic Rim region. The route took them through:
  • Aratula: First driven checkpoint with team building activities in this charming rural town
  • Warwick: The first Pit Stop for the night

The Pit Stop

At Warwick, teams found:
  • Powered campervan sites ready and waiting
  • Dinner reservations at a local pub
  • Overnight accommodation in their campervans
  • Checkpoint times recorded – determining tomorrow’s start order
Just like the real Amazing Race, the order teams arrived determined when they’d start the next day. This kept the competitive element alive while ensuring everyone got proper rest.

Day Two: Warwick to Glen Innes via the Border

The Route

Day two featured stunning regional landscapes and multiple checkpoints:
  • Stanthorpe: Queensland’s wine country with challenges among the vineyards
  • Wallangarra: Right on the Queensland-NSW border
  • Tenterfield: Historic town with team building exercises tied to local heritage
  • Glen Innes: Second Pit Stop

Evening at Glen Innes

Instead of a restaurant, teams experienced true Australian camping:
  • BBQ on the campsite – teams cooked together
  • Campfire camaraderie – sharing stories from the day’s adventures
  • Team bonding in a relaxed, authentic setting
This is where the real magic happened – away from the competition, teams connected over shared meals and laughter.

Day Three: Glen Innes to Tamworth via Kentucky

The Challenges

Day three ramped up the adventure:
  • Armidale: Checkpoint in this university city
  • Kentucky: A fantastic outdoor team challenge in true rural Australia
  • Tamworth: Australia’s country music capital and the third Pit Stop

Tamworth Night

The evening in Tamworth was unforgettable:
  • True country meal at a local venue
  • Live country music – because when in Tamworth!
  • Team celebration of three days of adventure together
By this point, teams weren’t just colleagues anymore – they were adventure companions with shared stories and inside jokes.

Day Four: Tamworth to Hunter Valley – The Grand Finale

Choose Your Own Adventure

The final day offered something special: choice of routes to the Hunter Valley. Teams could strategize based on:
  • Scenic preferences
  • Challenge difficulty
  • Time management
  • Risk vs. reward
All routes converged at the Hunter Valley for the final Pit Stop.

Victory Toast

The race concluded with:
  • Hunter Valley wines – a toast to the winning team and all participants
  • Final celebration in one of Australia’s most beautiful wine regions
  • Team reflection on four days of adventure, challenges, and growth
  • Memories that would last far beyond the return to the office

Why This Format Works for Team Building

Extended Bonding Time

Unlike our standard 2-3 hour Sydney Amazing Race or Brisbane Amazing Race events, the Campervan format provides:
  • Days of shared experiences – not just hours
  • Real problem-solving under genuine time pressure
  • Living together – teams see each other in new contexts
  • Shared meals and downtime – where authentic connections form

Authentic Australian Experience

Teams experience:
  • Regional Australia most tourists never see
  • Local communities and genuine hospitality
  • Diverse landscapes from cities to countryside
  • Real adventure – not a manufactured corporate event

Competitive Yet Collaborative

The staggered start times maintain competition, but teams also:
  • Share campsites and meals
  • Help each other with van issues
  • Celebrate together each evening
  • Build inter-team relationships

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should we book? We recommend 3-6 months for major routes, though we’ve accommodated shorter timelines. Peak seasons (November-December) book earliest.
Do participants need campervan experience? No! We provide orientation at van pickup, and our facilitators are available throughout for any questions or issues.

The tinsel is already appearing in shops (yes, it’s only September, but we’re not judging!), and if you’re a savvy event planner or HR manager, you’re already thinking about your company’s end-of-year Christmas Event. While your colleagues might think you’re jumping the gun, the truth is that the best Christmas corporate celebrations are planned well in advance – and for good reason.

Why Start Planning Your Christmas Event Now?

The Early Bird Gets the Best Venues (and Dates) December is the busiest month for corporate events across Australia. The most popular venues, entertainment providers, and dates get snapped up faster than free drinks at a work party. Starting your planning now means you’ll have the pick of the litter when it comes to:
  • Premium venue availability
  • Your preferred date and time slots
  • The best entertainment and team building providers
  • Competitive pricing (before demand drives costs up)

Key Elements to Consider for Your End-of-Year Christmas Event

1. Define Your Event Goals

Before you dive into the fun stuff (like choosing between a game show or an Amazing Race), ask yourself:
  • Is this purely a celebration and reward for your team?
  • Do you want to incorporate team building elements?
  • Are you looking to strengthen relationships between departments?
  • Is networking with clients or stakeholders part of the agenda?
Pro Tip: The most successful Christmas events combine celebration with subtle team building. Your staff get to have fun while naturally strengthening workplace relationships.

2. Consider Your Team Demographics

Your event should reflect your team’s personality and preferences:
  • Mixed age groups? Choose activities that everyone can enjoy, regardless of fitness level
  • Competitive bunch? Consider team challenges like our Survivor or Amazing Race experiences
  • Prefer socializing? A Game Show format encourages interaction and laughter
  • Remote or hybrid teams? Don’t forget virtual options to include everyone

3. Indoor vs. Outdoor: The Australian December Dilemma

December in Australia means summer, heat, and the occasional thunderstorm. Here’s what to consider:
Outdoor Events:
  • Perfect for Amazing Race or active team challenges
  • Great for larger groups
  • Natural energy and excitement
  • Must-have: Backup indoor options for weather contingencies
Indoor Events:
  • Climate-controlled comfort
  • More predictable logistics
  • Perfect for Game Shows, Trivia, or Virtual Escape Rooms
  • Easier catering arrangements

4. Budget Considerations

End-of-Year Christmas events don’t have to break the bank, but smart budgeting is crucial:
  • Set a realistic per-person budget early
  • Factor in venue, entertainment, catering, and transport
  • Remember that December pricing can be premium
  • Consider what’s included (equipment, facilitators, insurance)
  • Ask about package deals that combine multiple elements

5. Timing is Everything

  • Avoid the last week of December – many staff are already mentally on holidays
  • Mid-December is prime time – book early or have alternatives ready
  • Consider lunch events – often more cost-effective than evening functions
  • Factor in travel time if your team is spread across multiple locations

6. Catering and Dietary Requirements

Nothing kills the Christmas spirit like hungry team members or forgotten dietary needs:
  • Survey your team for dietary restrictions early
  • Consider the timing (lunch vs. dinner vs. drinks and nibbles)
  • Factor in alcohol policies and responsible service
  • Have substantial food if alcohol is served

7. The Fun Factor: Choosing Your Entertainment

This is where the magic happens! Consider:
Interactive Team Challenges:
  • Amazing Race experiences that explore your city
  • Survivor-style challenges that test teamwork
  • Mystery or Spy Race adventures for something different
Social and Engaging:
  • Game Show formats with Christmas themes
  • Trivia nights with company-specific questions
  • Virtual Escape Rooms for problem-solving fun
Customization Options:
  • Can the event be tailored to your company culture?
  • Are Christmas themes and branding possible?
  • Can you incorporate company achievements or inside jokes?

8. Logistics and Safety

The boring but essential stuff:
  • Insurance coverage – ensure your provider has public liability insurance
  • Qualified facilitators – look for first aid certification
  • Equipment and setup – who provides what?
  • Transport arrangements – especially important for off-site events
  • Communication plan – how will teams stay connected during activities?

9. Inclusivity and Accessibility

Make sure everyone can participate and feel included:
  • Consider physical accessibility requirements
  • Respect cultural and religious diversity
  • Offer alternative roles for those who can’t participate in physical activities
  • Ensure activities don’t exclude based on language barriers

10. The Follow-Up Plan

Great events create lasting memories:
  • Photography and video capture
  • Sharing highlights with the team
  • Gathering feedback for next year
  • Recognizing achievements and participation

Red Flags to Avoid

The Generic Package Deal If an event provider can’t customize their offering or seems to have a one-size-fits-all approach, keep looking. Your team is unique, and your event should reflect that.
Hidden Costs Be wary of quotes that seem too good to be true. Ask specifically about:
  • Setup and pack-down fees
  • Travel costs for equipment and facilitators
  • Cancellation policies
  • Weather contingency costs
Inexperienced Providers Christmas events can be complex. Look for providers with:
  • Proven track record with corporate events
  • Professional insurance and certifications
  • Flexibility to handle unexpected situations
  • Clear communication and planning processes

Making It Memorable

The best Christmas events are the ones people are still talking about in February. They strike the perfect balance between professional and fun, inclusive and engaging, celebratory and meaningful.
Whether you choose an action-packed Amazing Race through Sydney’s streets, a hilarious Game Show that has everyone in stitches, or an immersive team challenge that brings departments together, the key is choosing something that reflects your team’s personality while creating shared positive experiences.

Start Planning Now

Remember, the most successful Christmas events aren’t just parties – they’re investments in your team’s morale, relationships, and company culture. By starting your planning now, you’re not being overly eager; you’re being strategic.
The venues will thank you, your budget will thank you, and come December, when you’re watching your team laugh, bond, and celebrate together at a perfectly planned event, you’ll thank yourself for starting early.
Ready to start planning your unforgettable End Of Year Christmas event? The best dates and experiences are booking up fast. Don’t let your team miss out on the celebration they deserve.

We’ve all heard the saying “laughter is the best medicine,” but did you know it’s also one of the most powerful tools for building stronger corporate teams? At Team Fun, we’ve witnessed firsthand how a good laugh can transform workplace dynamics, boost productivity, and create lasting bonds between colleagues across Australia.

The Science Behind the Smiles

Research consistently shows that laughter triggers the release of endorphins – our body’s natural feel-good chemicals. When corporate teams engage in team building activities that incorporate humor and fun, they’re not just having a good time; they’re literally rewiring their brains for better collaboration and communication.
Studies from leading Australian universities demonstrate that workplace team building activities featuring laughter and play can:
  • Reduce stress hormones by up to 70%
  • Increase team productivity by 25%
  • Improve problem-solving abilities by 40%
  • Strengthen interpersonal relationships significantly

Breaking Down Barriers with Team Building Challenges

Traditional corporate environments can create invisible walls between departments, hierarchies, and personalities. However, when teams participate in tailored team building experiences that prioritize fun and laughter, these barriers quickly dissolve.
Take our Amazing Race corporate team building events, for example. We’ve watched CEOs and interns work side-by-side, laughing as they navigate Sydney’s CBD or solve puzzles in Melbourne’s laneways. The shared experience of friendly competition and good-natured challenges creates a level playing field where everyone’s contribution matters.

Team Development Activities That Actually Work

The most effective team development activities are those that don’t feel like work at all. Our Game Show experiences and Survivor challenges prove that learning happens naturally when people are genuinely enjoying themselves. Teams develop crucial skills like:
Communication: When you’re laughing together during team building exercises for work, honest communication flows more freely. Colleagues who might never speak in the office find themselves strategizing and problem-solving together.
Trust Building: Shared laughter creates psychological safety. Teams that laugh together during workplace team building activities are more likely to take creative risks and support each other through challenges back in the office.
Stress Management: Regular doses of workplace humor through structured team building activities for work help teams develop resilience and maintain perspective during high-pressure periods.

The Australian Advantage: Humor in the Workplace

Australian corporate culture has always embraced a healthy dose of humor, and smart businesses are leveraging this cultural strength through strategic team building. Our Taskmaster challenges and Monopoly Live experiences tap into that uniquely Australian ability to find humor in competition and camaraderie in shared experiences.
When teams participate in our tailored team building events, they’re not just ticking a box for professional development – they’re investing in the emotional intelligence and social bonds that drive real business results.

Making It Work: Practical Applications

Monthly Laughter Breaks: Incorporate brief, fun team building challenges into regular meetings. Even 10 minutes of structured play can shift energy and perspective.
Celebrate Wins with Fun: Replace traditional corporate celebrations with interactive team building activities that get everyone involved and laughing together.
Problem-Solving Through Play: Use game-based approaches to tackle workplace challenges. Our Mystery Race format, for instance, teaches teams to approach problems from multiple angles while having fun.

The Bottom Line on Laughter

Investing in corporate team building that prioritizes laughter isn’t frivolous – it’s strategic. Teams that laugh together stay together, work better together, and achieve more together. In today’s competitive business environment, the companies that understand laughter truly is the best medicine for corporate teams will have a significant advantage.

🆃🅷🅴 🆂🆃🅾🆁🆈

You and your team are part of a deep sea expedition when you find an old submarine hidden in the depths of the ocean. You head into an open hatch when suddenly, it slams behind you. With no way back, you are forced to head deeper into the submarine and see if you can find another exit or this might be your final excursion.

🆃🅷🅴 ❞🅻🅾🅾🅺🆂❞

Built on Telescape, WTF Escaping makes excellent use of the platform, delivering a smooth, intuitive experience from start to finish. Their familiarity with the tool shows how well this game was made. The artwork stands out, capturing the gritty, rusted feel of a long-forgotten submarine.

🆃🅷🅴 🅶🅰🅼🅴 🅿🅻🅰🆈

Getting started was super easy and intuitive as I simply clicked on the link and the game began. It’s a point-and-click style game, which they made user-friendly. The intro video was well made, setting the scene and kicking off the story. I appreciated the thorough first page being a full tutorial of how to play and how to operate the game. There were actually two ways to play the game. You could either explore freely by clicking around, or use a handy button that highlights all the interactive spots on the screen, depending on the difficulty you want.

There were a lot of high points in the game. The map in the corner was especially helpful, showing me exactly where I was in the ship as well as which direction I was facing, making sure I didn’t confuse any turns. The game also had a notebook that automatically saved key information as I discovered it. Though I didn’t need to write everything down, keeping a pen and paper handy to help with the puzzle solving was useful.

🆃🅷🅴 🅿🆄🆉🆉🅻🅴🆂

The puzzles had a nice mix of logic and observation. The game started linearly but then opened into a more non-linear gameplay which would be perfect for a group, allowing different people to work on different things at the same time. Since the game is built on Telescape, when someone solves a puzzle, it updates for everyone automatically.

The hint system used a tiered hint format that gradually nudged me in the right, so I could still enjoy those satisfying “aha!” moments. The hints were accessed through a QR code though, so make sure to keep your phone nearby.

🅲🅻🅾🆂🅸🅽🅶 🆃🅷🅾🆄🅶🅷🆃🆂

“Deep Sea Escape” was a solid and satisfying puzzle experience. The little details really stood out in the gameplay from the ambient ocean sounds and effects to the polished opening and closing videos. The puzzles hit the sweet spot with the right amount of challenging and great “aha!” moments when I made the connections. I did play this one solo but it would work great for up to 4 people, especially in different locations looking for something fun to do. Whether you’re a puzzle beginner or just want a creative way to reconnect with friends, this one is definitely a deep dive worth taking.
